Once upon a time, pearls were standard wear for women for everything from a night at the opera to a jaunt to the grocery store. Thanks to June Cleaver and Lucille Ball, pearls were a daily staple, worn with not only elegant ball gowns, but shirt-waisters and sweater sets. Over time, pearls lost their luster in the fashion world, and although they have never become extinct, they have certainly taken a back seat to other precious jewels such as diamonds, rubies and sapphires. But fear not, pearl fans, those exquisite round beauties have found their way back into the fashion world in a whole new way.
When I was a bit younger and my friends were all getting married, pearls were the jewelry of choice for the bridesmaids’ gift. Usually necklaces, sometimes earrings, but always pearls. Thanks to all my lovely girlfriends, I have a fabulous collection of various sizes of soft white orbs strung together in countless lengths. And when I wed, I wore a pearl bracelet from my grandmother. Something old, yet something cherished.
I still love my pearls and probably always will. Their simplicity and elegance just cannot be beaten. Recently, however, I discovered a whole new way to wear pearls, one that I, and many others, would not have even fathomed as a use for these delicate beauties. I was introduced to the Bracli Pearl Thong. A unique concept combining lace and pearls for an elegant, provocative, tantalizing piece of lingerie that is as exciting to wear as it is beautiful to look upon.
Along the north coast of Spain in the lush territory of Asturias, Luis Álvarez, a banker by trade, created the Bracli Pearl Thong in 1999. Originally designed as a gift for close friends, Alvarez later offered his intimate creation at a 5-star hotel in Tenefife, the largest of seven Canary Islands in Spain. They were gone in a heartbeat and Alvarez knew he was on to something great.
While wildly successful in Spain, Bracli’s popularity soared to new heights when it appeared on an episode of Sex in the City and was forever immortalized in modern culture. It has also appeared in magazines in both the US and Spain and its reputation continues to grow each year as more and more women – and men – discover its rich and satisfying pleasures.
So what makes this thong so special? Why have women and men across the globe sung its praises? Each pearl thong is hand-made in Asturias, and is made from soft, stretch French lace for the band and Mallorcan pearls for the thong that runs from front to back. These pearls are specifically cultured in the Baleric Islands of Spain utilizing a top-secret process that makes them more durable than natural pearls which gives them the edge for their particular use.
Bracli has designed several variations of the pearl thong, including a body suit and matching pearl bra. In the thong category are the single strand and double strand thongs. The single strand thong is the original pearl thong and is still very popular among Bracli fans. However, the double strand thong has its own fan base, which is growing by leaps and bounds. This sensual piece of lingerie has two strands of pearls and a strategically placed pearl knot that can be adjusted to insure proper placement for maximum pleasure. When worn appropriately, the dueling strands stimulate her while also stimulating him. This is why this lacy, racy pearl masterpiece is fast becoming a favorite across the globe.
If you’ve never tried a Bracli pearl thong, you should. Of those whom I know have indulged in this delectable treat, not one would ever trade it in. In fact, most women prefer to have more than one in different colors to suit their every mood. As one woman shared with me, “It’s the best investment I’ve made in a long, long time!”
