Pampered Passions Care Wear Boutique Opens in Porter Hospital

Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie has long been known for their extensive work with pre and post mastectomy patients.  They work very closely with doctors and patients to insure they receive the proper prostheses and garments to make them comfortable and assist in their healing.  Each woman who works for Pampered Passions is specially trained and certified to accurately fit every patient.  But most of all it is the compassion and care each lingerie consultant gives to every woman who walks through their doors that has made Pampered Passions the company of choice for those journeying through breast cancer.

Until now all mastectomy or surgical garment fittings were done on site at Pampered Passions store in Englewood, CO.  But starting on Monday, February 20, 2012, there will be another very special location created and designed just for mastectomy and plastic surgery patients.  Pampered Passions Care Wear (PPCW) will be opening their doors inside Porter Hospital in Denver, CO.  Located behind the gift shop in the main building will be the new Pampered Passions Care Wear Boutique with everything a breast cancer patient needs.

Inside the Care Wear Boutique you’ll meet our Certified Mastectomy Fitter (CMF) who will help you find the right products for your particular needs, based upon your doctor’s recommendations.  They will be offering post mastectomy services, all pre and post-operative care for augmentations, reconstructions, reductions and even basic bra fittings.  Everything you need from compression garments to leisure bras to prostheses can be found in one nurturing, caring place.

Flattering Bras for Every Bustline-Part Two

(This is the second part of a two part blog on flattering bras for every bustline.  In Part One I shared some thoughts on smaller bustlines and the most complimentary bras for them.  In this blog I’ll share the mid-range and full figure bras that bring out your best silhouette.)

 

In the mid-range category, Camille’s go-to bra is the Wacoal Halo Lace Underwire Bra

(65547).  Soft, flat lace graces this underwire bra from the seamless stretch cups to the three hook and eye back closure.  A soft cottony lining makes it super comfy to wear while the simple tailoring makes this bra extra flattering and supportive.  In contrast is the Wacoal Basic Beauty Seamless Underwire Bra (855192).  Molded, underwire cups are free from padding while still offering support and shape to your bustline.  Silky nylon/spandex fabric cups are smooth for a seamless appearance under T-shirts and clingy knits.  Kicked-in shoulder straps prevent slippage and provide additional support.  A great all-day, everyday bra!

B.tempt’d, a brand of Wacoal, is an ideal collection for the mid-range category.  These dazzling, sophisticated and flirty bras offer the support a woman needs combined with luxurious style.  This collection includes non-molded, molded and push-up style bras.   The Lace Kiss Bralette (910182) and the Hot Spots Underwire Bra (951154) offer non-molded, lace cups for a natural look.  The Lace Kiss Bralette has no underwire and an extended band offering some support.  The Hot Spots Underwire Bra obviously has an underwire, with slightly smaller cups for a more tailored appearance.

b.tempt'd Rhapsody in Lace Contour Underwire Bra

For a molded style, the b.tempt’d Faithfully Yours Underwire Contour Bra (953108), Full Bloom Underwire Bra (951133) and the Rhapsody in Lace Contour Underwire Bra (953165) are the ideal choice.  Each bra has an underwire, molded, contoured cup giving you ample support with lift and shaping for a beautiful bustline.  Faithfully Yours has smooth fabric cups and is perfect under clingy knits, T-shirts and sweaters while Full Bloom and Rhapsody in Lace have a lacey finish to the cups for a touch of pizzazz.

Soft Touch Push-Up Underwire Bra (958122) and La Parisienne Push-Up Underwire Bra (958157) give you that added lift.  Both have underwire, push-up cups, however the La Parisienne is a demi-style cup and the Soft Touch is a more triangular style cup.  Plus the La Parisienne has mesh accents and the Soft Touch is smooth and soft.  Very different bras, but both delightful to wear.

Full figured bras are usually designed with maximum support in mind.  Again, Wacoal is Camille’s favorite line for consistency in comfort, fit and style.  Her number one choice – Awareness Underwire Bra (8556) (no surprise, this is Wacoal’s number one selling bra).   The Awareness offers lots of support and goes up to a G cup.  It has a hidden underwire with two layers of fabric surrounding an inner sling for the greatest support.  In addition, the lace covering the cups is woven tighter on the sides and underneath for extra reinforcement.  The full coverage, wide back and four hook-and-eye closure offer smoothing qualities that make this bra truly a top choice of full figure women.

Simone Perele is another fabulous designer of well-designed, sophisticated bras with stylish flair.  Made in France, their bewitching designs and captivating charm will have you saying “oooh, la la!”  Celeste Full Cup Bra (12M320)is elegant, everyday comfort.   All-over French Chantilly lace with underwire cups lined with a sheer mesh for a semi-sheer appearance.  Wide shoulder straps are also adorned with lace and offer additional support to this practical and pretty bra.

Inspired by intricate Japanese origami, the Simone Perele Nina Full Cup Bra (185320) is teaming with romance and support.  The lower part of the cups bears a unique pleated accent while the upper portion boasts delicate Leavers lace for a stunning combination.  An underwire offers support for this enchanting full cup bra.

In a world of women with varying bustlines  and bodies, it is reassuring to know that there are creative companies  who can design and craft comfortable, practical and beautiful bras to fit and flatter any woman’s figure.  Whether you are an A cup or a G cup or anywhere in between, know that with the right assistance and determined persistence, you can and will find the ideal bra to flatter you bustline.

Flattering Bras for Every Bustline

There’s no doubt that women come in various shapes and sizes.  Their bustlines are no different. From A to G cups, women run the gamut in their shapely silhouettes.  Finding a properly fitting bra can be a challenge for any woman.  But take heart, women of the world, there is hope.  With solid designs from top manufacturers and the help of a certified bra fitter, you, too, can have a comfortable, well-fitting bra that will flatter your figure and boost your confidence.

When shopping for a new bra, it is wise to always to seek out a store that has highly trained and certified bra fitters.  These women know what they are doing.  They can practically look at you and tell you what bra or bras will best fit your figure, without every taking out a tape measure.  Fortunately, they usually will measure you to insure the best fit.  They’ll also inquire as to whether or not you wish to have more of an “everyday” bra or something, perhaps, a bit fancier.  Whatever general style you choose, your bra fitter will be sure to accommodate.

To assist me with this blog, I consulted one of our top bra fitters at Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie store, Camille.  With her help and guidance I will share with you a selection of bras to flatter your bustline.  I’ve included some great everyday bras and some fancier ones, too.  I have used the broad categories of “Smaller,” “Mid-Range,” and “Full Figured” as general terms to describe women’s bustlines from cup sizes A to G.  Please bear in mind that these categories are not necessarily cut-and-dry, but are more of a guide to assist you in finding the perfect bra.

Wacoal Soft and Seductive Convertible Contour Underwire Bra

They say great things come in small packages.  So it is with smaller bustlines and the right fitting bra.  For a great everyday style bra, Camille recommends Wacoal’s petite line.  These bras tend to be molded, but not necessarily padded so you have a nice shape and form to the breast without unnecessarily adding a cup size.  Many are tear drop shaped so the cups will lie flat against the chest and not leave a gap at the top of the cup.  The Soft and Seductive Convertible Contour Bra (853118) is one of Camille’s favorites.  Soft microfiber fabric over underwire, contour, molded cups with light padding creates a smooth look under clothing.  The plunging neckline and convertible straps makes this bra versatile enough for any style garment.  If you prefer additional lift, there is the Soft and Seductive Underwire Push Up Convertible Bra (858118).  Similar to the Soft and Seductive Convertible Contour Bra, but with push up pads for extra lift.

For a decorative petite push-up bra, try the Wacoal Embrace Lace Petite Underwire Bra (75891).  This elegant, tailored bra is designed to enhance and flatter the smaller woman’s figure (sizes range from 30A to 36C).  Smooth, underwire push-up cups have graduated foam contour to lift and shape the bustline.  Add a touch of lace on the wings and center gore for a beautiful, flattering bra.

Blush Carried Away Push-Up Bra

If you’re looking for something swankier, then check out Blush Lingerie’s collection of gorgeous bras.  From a sweet bralette to an elegant satin demi bra, Blush has delightfully fun and flirty bras (matching panties available).  The Rapture Push-Up Bra (223004), Private Affair Push-Up Bra (221604) and the Carried Away Push-Up Bra (222604) are all constructed with underwire, molded cups with push-up padding for extra lift and great shaping.  Each bra, however, has its own characteristics:  Rapture – zebra stripes and lace, Private Affair – pin stripes and lace, and Carried Away – polka dots with eyelash lace.  A little something for everyone.

The Blush True Confessions Demi Bra (221807) and the Clandestine Demi Bra (221407) are both non-molded, underwire bras with sheer mesh cups for a more natural shaping.  Added accents of lace on the Clandestine and satin trim on True Confessions make these bras très chic.

Colorado Uncovered – Imagery and Art Captured and Bound

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder.  In the case of Sherry Whitney and Darrel Pierson of BodyPhotage, beauty is in the shape of the human form, the environment around us and the encompassing interplay of light and shadow.  This husband and wife team are experts in physique photography and have been working together for eighteen years, collaborating on photographs of nearly 7000 people.  Darrel has won numerous awards and national recognition for his work with light and shadow on the female form and for his emphasis on muscle definition and anatomical outlines.  Together they have created myriad compositions utilizing “bodyscapes” and landscapes in artistically distinctive combinations.

This year Sherry and Darrel bring us a unique collection of photographs taken all around the state of Colorado.  Their journey took them to well-known and not so well locations that embody the beauty, history and generally interesting features of the Centennial State.  But what makes this collection stand out is their use of one nude model (tastefully done) in each of their images.  Introducing – Colorado Uncovered.

This stunning collection of imagery is combined together in an 11”x 14,” 112 page, hard-covered table book that is “bound to stimulate some conversation.”  What started as a single image of a nude woman enjoying her latte at a local café has turned into this exciting, wondrous assembly of dynamic photography.

According to Sherry and Darrel, reactions to their book have been “surprisingly consistent.” From “No way!” to “Can I be in your book?” and just about everything in between.  I know some people might think this book is unthinkable – nude images, of course, are inappropriate (yes, that’s sarcastic).   But when you see the incredible images these two have created, you realize the nudes are just another piece of the scenery and in many cases become one with their surroundings.  It is their wish that, “…you’ll find pictures you enjoy for their beauty, color and composition…”  Of this, I can assure you.

Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie has partnered with BodyPhotage over the years in various aspects of business.  In celebration of Colorado Uncovered they are hosting a book signing event with Darrell and Sherry.  It will also be a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society.  For years Pampered Passions has participated in and/or created fund raising opportunities for cancer organizations, in particular those related to breast cancer.  Pampered Passions Fine Lingerie is well known for their work with bra and garment fittings and care of those fighting breast cancer.  Fifteen percent (15%) of all proceeds from the sale of these magnificent books will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Bras and Bra Sizing When One Breast is Larger than the Other

Did you know that there is scientific evidence that all women have one breast that is larger than the other?  It’s not the one you would think either. It is the opposite dominance side that is larger. So, if you are right handed it would be your left breast that is larger and vice versa. This could explain why it is so difficult to find a bra that fits perfectly. In recent years some bra manufacturers have developed the half size bra to help those of us who fall between the letter sizes, such as a C1/2 for those who fall between the traditional C and D cup sizes. If they can do that, why not create a bra that addresses the one larger breast issue?

It’s a New Year! Let Wacoal’s b.tempt’d Collections Make a New You

Happy New Year!  Yes, it’s a brand new year and time for those annual New Year’s resolutions.  Or, if you’re like me, I prefer to make a commitment to do something new and/or different each year instead.  Unfortunately, New Year resolutions just seem too easily to fall by the wayside as the year moves on.  But a commitment is something I can make and stick to it.  Not really sure what the difference is, but it sure seems to work for me.

This year I committed to myself to stop looking at lingerie as just that simple something I wear under my clothes, but to expand my horizons and start seeing lingerie as an opportunity to discreetly express myself.  So I went out to my favorite lingerie website (Pampered Passions, of course) and started flipping through the webpages for a line or collection that I’ve not tried before.  Something basic, but not so basic it’s boring.  I wanted color, details, style and comfort.  What I discovered – b.tempt’d!
